Le Tore farm lays over 14 hectars beetween Sorrento and Massalubrense, 500 metres over the sea level . It is located just on the crest of the hill of S.Agata sui due Golfi, that divide the Sorrento side, green and humid by woods and the Amalfitan side sunny and dry.
Grown crops include apples, olives and grapes (the wines are D.O.C.), with all sorts of vegetables and berries. Irrigation water is by a spring within the farm itself.Besides oil and wine, house production offers chestnuts, nuts, various sorts of local fruit, including different kinds of animal, now grown only by few, as well as poultry, honeys, eggs,jams.
Everything produced at the Tore fellows the strictness of organic farming and is controlled and certified by AIAB (Italian Association for Biological Agricolture). In particular, beside environmental considerations, most of the cropping techniques which are applied are a tribute to an ancient agricoltural tradition, still witness and by ritual celebrations which keep the flairs of mix of different religious beliefs which, in the ages, have spread in this place.
In particular,among such events, one may recall the pig processing ritual at Carnival, Palm Sunday, the two weeks of “lucciole”, the day before Mary’s assumption, the “vendemmia” and the period of the apples harvest.
Le Tore are essential equidistant among Positano, Sorrento and Massalubrense (approx 20 minutes drive).
Easy to reach by hydrofoil (20 to 35 minutes) are Capri, Ischia, Naples, while going to Pompei and Ercolano take 45 minutes by local railways Circumvesuviana.
Sea shore is at 15 minutes drive and boats may be rent to visit the new Marine Park has been just set in the area around Punta della Campanella, guarantesing undisturbed sea watching.
Trekking is available at different level and a special guide can arrange anything from relaxed nature observation (peculiar and unique species have developed in the area ) to agonistic orienteering.
